Lake Lullaby

Somewhere, there is a lake so still

You’d swear it’s glass.

The sky gazes in it,

Blushing

As she slips behind the pines.

Silhouettes of swallows

Swoop and chitter.

You can be here now, as

The crickets slow their wings

And move into adagio,

As twigs snap

Under the hooves of
